Gulf Hotels Group BSC is a public limited liability company listed in Bahrain Stock Exchange incorporated in 1967, under the name of Bahrain Hotels Company.
The Group’s Chairman is Mr. Farouk Yousuf Almoayyed and the current Board of Directors includes distinguished, well-established and influential businessmen from Bahrain & abroad.
Since inception, its vision was to provide a standard of hospitality unrivalled on the Island, which was duly delivered with the opening of Bahrain’s first five star property, the Gulf Hotel. Fifty five years later, this philosophy remains unchanged although the Gulf Hotel has changed beyond recognition, continually expanding and upgrading to meet the modern day demands.

In 1975, the then Bahrain Hotels Company acquired the beverage distribution company “Vinsales”, later to become Gulf Cellar and more recently rebranded as Gulf Brands International.
The addition of the 2,200 seat state-of-the-art Gulf Convention Centre in 1997, located adjacent to the Gulf Hotel is a clear example of the Company’s commitment to meet the needs of the International MICE market. In 2004, the Group opened its first property outside of Bahrain, Ocean Paradise Resort in Zanzibar.
The Gulf Executive Residence opened in March 2006, providing 97 luxury apartment suites to further diversify the Group’s portfolio within the market. In 2010 the Group acquired a major shareholding in restaurant operator, Bahrain Family Leisure Company.
In 2011, the K Hotel opened its doors in Bahrain and quickly established itself as the leading four star hotel in the Kingdom, cementing the Gulf Hotels Group’s excellent reputation for its ability to profitably manage a broad portfolio of hospitality related businesses.
In 2015, the Group opened Asdal Gulf Inn, a four-star boutique hotel located in Seef District. The property is managed by the Group on behalf of its GCC-based owners.
In 2016, the Group acquired Bahrain Tourism Company, which owns the 246 rooms Crowne Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in Bahrain. In 2018, the Group opened Gulf Executive Residence Juffair; a 109 unit luxury apartment facility and acquired ownership of Bahrain Tourism Company, owners of the Crown Plaza Hotel Bahrain and major shareholders of African and Eastern Bahrain.
Gulf Court Hotel Business Bay, the Company’s first hotel establishment in Dubai, opened in 2018, catering to the Business Bay area in UAE. The hotel features 270 rooms with top-class facilities for both leisure and business travelers.
GHG Colombo was established in 2019 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Group. It serves as a leading beverage distributor in Sri Lanka and represents some of the world’s biggest developing brands in the Sri Lankan on-trade market.
Bahrain Airport Hotel, opened in 2020, located within the Bahrain International Airport. It features 17 spacious and elegantly designed family rooms of 36 sqm, 25 luxurious standard rooms of 28 sqm, 17 well-equipped compact rooms of 7sqm and 24 state-of-the-art sleeping pods.
